It will be a short agenda for the Apple Valley Town Council as they discuss a resolution to collect unpaid utility fees during Tuesday’s meeting.

The resolution will allow the town to bill property owners and other parties for delinquent utility fees until Feb. 21. before the town executes a property lien.

According to a staff report, all billing parties and property owners have been given adequate notice and the opportunity to apply the delinquency to their property tax bill.

Currently, more than 1,400 residential and commercial bills are delinquent.

Government code allows municipalities to collect delinquent rubbish collection, sewer and various accounts by recording a lien against the real property, according to a staff report.
